History:

The land that is Rotary Park was assembled from five different sources. A majority of the land, 54 acres, was donated to the City as part of a consent judgment that allowed for the construction of the Chase Farms subdivision. A small portion of property was formerly a wastewater storage facility managed by Oakland County. When that facility was removed, the property was given to the City. A portion of the property near Nine Mile Road was donated to the City. After the park was established, 5 acres on Nine Mile Road was purchased from the Auduboun Society of Detroit. In 2008, the city acquired another 2 acres between Rotary Park and Chase Farms as part of a land exchange with a property owner on Twelve Mile Road. Initial development of the park was funded with grant funding from the State of Michigan and was matched with donations from the Novi Rotary Club.
